POLITE NOTICE – Viewing our Animals

Please note we are not open to public viewing. Some of our cats require the anonymity that rescue provides.

We ask any potential adopters to fill out our online enquiry form and await a response (please remember to check your spam folder too).

You will be offered the opportunity to meet our cats and kittens at our rescue centre with a member of the team, this may take some time if you do not immediately match the needs of the animal but you could be contacted at a later date.

All visitors must bring proof of ID with them when they attend a meet and greet. If you rent please also bring proof of landlord’s permission to keep animals.

Change to our Adoption Process

To safeguard the animals in our care we now require proof of identification: 1 x photo ID (passport/driving licence etc) and 2 x proof of address (ie utility bills).  If you do not have photo ID then please provide a bank statement and bank card.  Please bring this along when you visit our animals, documents will be checked and returned, no copies will be taken.

Failure to bring this identification will result in us refusing access to our animals.

Warning to Cat Owners

We have been made aware of reports of lads lamping on the Barnes Park extension at the Grindon/Thorney Close end. At least one cat has been killed and mutilated and was found by a local resident.

If you see any suspicious activity please report it to the Police. If you live in the area please try and keep your pets safe.

Can you help the ‘Scaredy Cats’

We are looking for loving, forever homes for what we call Scaredy Cats – these cats aren’t feral but they are not fully socialised and will probably never be lap or house cats.

Scaredy Cats are neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and are ready to move on to a suitable outdoor home, with shelter such as an outbuilding, barn or shed. You must be willing to put the work in in gaining their trust, it won’t happen overnight!

Scaredy Cats need a safe secure place for up to a month before being allowed out so they know where their new home is. It is important that a Scaredy Cat is given food and shelter and is treated regularly for fleas and worms.  Although they aren’t house cats they still need to be cared for, as would any pet.

Please do get in touch if you can help a Scaredy Cat find its ideal home – contact us by email or messenger.
